Namaskaar. I watched MHS y'day Oct 5, 2008, at Gadkari. Outstanding!
It's a real good quality, well written, well directed and well enacted play. Hats off to the writer for having explored such an intimate nerve of the marriage system.
The play isn't a comedy, which I thought of it when I bought the ticket. Nevertheless, I am more that satisfied with the great experience! Some of the punches are extremely brilliant, though some of them are not gasped by the masses. The actors.. Pustak, Chaku and Makad.. are all brilliant, too and Pencil... there probably couldn't be a better choice than this stunning lady.
I also appreciate the presense-of-mind Aanand and the backstage artists showed during the short-circuit and fire incident yesterday. It could have easily been resulted into a great tragedy with huge fire and mass killing due to stampade, which have become so common in our coutry these days. However, it's a real pity that a quality auditorium like Gadkari, too doesn't have adequate fire fighting measures, not even a portable fire extinguisher and the chap had to put off the fire using his napkin? Imagine, what could have hapenned if the fire touched the curtains and how fast would it have spread... I wonder if could follow it up with the auditorium authorities and make sure the people are not always at the mercy of the good-luck, as we were y'day.

Dhanyawaad.

Hello, I liked this play, ekdum vegala ahe.Natak pahoon 2-3 divas jhale tari I am thinking about it, the dialogues, characters.Though some dialogues about women are not applicable to the majority of the middle class women,I will still give due credit to the writer who seems to have really studied women's psychology and thinking very very well.
Pan shevat jara apoorna vatla. Also, in the first part of the play, eka character che dialogues chalu astana, the other characters seem to be only waiting for their turn to say the dialogues. But overall a good play and a must watch.

I have seen this play M.H.C. on 12th Oct '08 at Balgandhrava. I wasn't interested in seeing cause I hadn't heard much about the play ( I mean to say recommendations) but still companied with friends. But really I enjoyed a lot. "Ekdum Zakkas aapli ravivarchi chandi zali".
Play is marvelous. Story, direction and performance was outstanding(specially Makad) and moreover sound was really great. "Baaarrr"

ALL THE BEST.

Hi, Seen the play on 20th Oct at Yashwant Rao chavan, Pune. I must appreaciate that i enjoyed it completely.

Makad was great!
Suri was Good
Pustak was ok..
Pencil need to be more realistic ..is a nit too fily at times....

One more thing it would be even better if you could start on time..

Dr Sulochana Harshe drharshe53@yahoo.com
I saw your play at Yahswantrao Chavan Pune. The first act was really excellant and mind catching... you sort of stick to the chair and get into the act mentally.. conceptually ...The very beginning of the second act not only detaches the viewer from the Director but also pushes away into a state of confusion from the state of confortable enjoyment..which was unnecessary...The process of selection of pustak by Pencil must be projected elaborately and the viewet be allowed to accompany the process with pencil... as per my understanding pencil selects chaku in the first place as a part of natural attraction between Adam and Eve.. when she gets an option in the form of pustak she starts thinking logically .. compares the two amd goes for a better option. Pustak that is a symbol of more civilised, secure and comfortable lifestyle
The reference of Panwala again push the viewer in confusion as the reason is not clear in the begining and further detaches the viewer from the theme.. the reason sdould be clear in the beginning... As per my understanding pencil expects pustak to act manlike i.e. chaku way. This part is very near to reality and hence touches the mind brings the viewer back close to the theme. However Pencil makes no efforts to use her logical thinking onceagain. She allows herself to get carried with her Eve like natural attraction for the Adam and his laws of Jungle. This part is interesting but the outcome should be a "Role Model" sort of result and not "Just" an ongoing switchover between Pustak and Chaku. I remember the film "GUmraha" of Mala Sinha & Ashok Kumar where the end stands as a landmark even today in my mind and it was this end that raise the height of the movie to Divine level,, I expect something of that sort from your play which is excellant in every aspect.
The character of Pencil needs more more depth not just 'Happy go Lucky" sort not even bothering to cook for her husband. She should represent the working woman who has freedom of choice and she uses it in a responsible manner. The act shlould help people stabilise their marriage. The carry-Home message should be " every man has his own ways to react to the situation and the woman marries because she needs a stable and secure life. Draupadi in mahabharat demanded punishment for Duryodhan for violating her chastity and the whole family was ruined and unhappy..The woman today must learn to ignore the Roadside Romeos and make her married life fruitful by sharing affection and concern. Both Husband and wife should not demand the impossible from each other.

In all the Play was really Nice and different... Just the above .. All rest nice..

i watched MHS today...31-10-08 wit my frnds.
ppl wud enjoy it as it is a gud Natak.but here by "ppl" i mean ur target audience i:e married ppl and ppl over the age of 25 may b.
i did not enjoy or like it as much since mayb i am not old enough ---mayb.
its just that mayb politics and lagna r not our subjects of interest.
also the set i did not like as it is too vibrant and hence distracting.i was sitting in the 2nd row so the stage was larger for me and hence i cud not keep my eyes on all the characters at once since they were almost always sitting faar apart.its a fault or it is intentional..i do not know.
on the gus side i liked the character of makad as it is cunning and manipulative . in the climax of the show, i felt like it was narad muni of today....

bharpur tika keli nai.??..sry but savay aahe since i am a media student i cant help it...sry for any kindda disrespect i might have shown...i didnt mean to.

I watched this play on November 2, 2008 at Damodar Hall. The reason i went to see this play initially was simple..it was a sunday and i had nothing much to do. My friend was out of town and hence i had to do something to pass my time. I bought M.Ta at Parel railway station and saw nothing but the ad of this play.It just clicked me and withing 10 mins i was inside the hall. 4th row from front. I was excited because i had found something to pass my time. But the moment the play started i got engrossed in it. The actors..all of them.. are so good. They are just so natural.I have seen other marathi plays and acted in few too.The overall experience of watching good actors perform infront of you is awesome !! The dialogues and thier delivery was perfect ! The way it should be. And then within half an hour of the play i realised that im not passing my time but i have found something creative to watch and im investing my time in it !!

Only one thing to add... the end of the play , according to me,could have been more logical. But of course the writer surely must have thought of it and made it end like that. But all in all the play is awesome !!

i was saw this drama and i am thinking that, this drama won 20 award and that is enough because this drama deserve for more than 20. and another thing is that i read the award list and found there is no award for lighting, which very strong point of this drama.

so best luck

I have seen M.H.S on 20th december 2008 in Bharat Natya mandeer. This was second time i was watching the play.I have seen it 2 years before.
I liked the play very much. Excellent script.Good direction and good acting. But i thought previous team was better one. They did more naturally than new team.
The most important thing i want to mention is lights.Very very nice lights and no doubt Excelletnt timing.Hats off! Whole play was very good.Except one thing & i.e frames. I think when you take any kind of interview you must face each other so you can get other's openion more clearly. In first half those frames which were set in those interview scene i think that were set like that only to give better light effect and to show facial expressions of 3 of them. But i think those frames could be arranged in better manner.Thats it.

I saw this play today. It was simply amazing. The performance of all the characters, the humor the top notch script. Everything was incredible and I was laughing through out. Just two comments for further action:
1. They did not announce the prayog number at the play
2. We did not get a chance to give a standing ovation to the cast since they did not take a curtain call. This usually happens when you see a show on Broadway and perhaps not an Indian concept, but it would have been great to see the cast at the end of the show and give them an ovation.

Thanks very much.

I saw M.H.S on 28 December 2008 at Shivaji Mandir. It is of my best play of the recent time. The concept of define one self to an article is very extra ordinary. while watching the play i just realised that that every one of us is realted to some product and we behave in he same fashion.
Role Of the Pencil was superb. Keep it up. I would surely like to see the play again in the Theater & not in DVD or CD.

I saw the show on 29th Dec 2008 at Yashwantrao Chavan Natyagruh, Kothrud, Pune. The concept and the presentation of this show was amazing and match to the present situation of society. The actors are too good. The situations and dialogues are appropriate. But one thing I want to mention that the play should have some more speed which I think suits to new generation. And one more comment I want to give preferably to Marathi Plays that they should advertise more like giving promos on TV, etc. So that the public may be attracted to theater in more strength. Basically, what I feel that the common peoples doesn't know what is the enjoyment of seeing shows in real. May be think on this.....Anyway best luck in future....................and wish to see the play many more times...............

Hello MHC troop,

Hats Off to you guys (and of course the gal ;))!!!

I would like to mark the merits of the play as script, light effects, music and above all fantastic performance by all actors.

The idea of playing 'Marathi News' in the background which resemble the situation in the play is amazing.

All married/unmarried folks should watch this play. The underlined message related to marital relatioship is too good.

At the end it seems the play is still not completed and the play wants to think us much on how we behave in day-to day life.

In all total it was fatanstic experience. I wish 'Rangadevata' to give you potential of performing this play for years so next generations would be benifited from its underlined message.

Jai Hind!!!

The idea of giving pet names to each character was extremely good. We too in our family gave pet name to all members based on their nature. The performance of Ingale I mean Makad was too good. I saw M.H.C. at BalGandharva, Pune on 28-Mar-09. I liked it a lot!!
1. The play has been written very well. The language is very appropriate, ad high level Marathi. Khudos to the Writer. We expect more such plays from him.
2. The direction is slick and very tidy, and deserves an award.
3. All the actors/actress have acted very well. Lines were well rehearsed and expressions were appropriate.
4. 'Makad' or Anand Ingale well deserves the best actor award. His tone of voice, dialog delivery and facial expressions were excellent.
5. Smita as 'Pencil' was very lively and vivacious and charming. Her face is very expressive, and always bore the right expression, fitting the situation.

I would like to see more plays from these four musketeers!
All the BEST for the future!

Hello,
Saw this play in ghadkari on 2nd Apr 09. Overall the humor is good for a college going crowd. As regards couple/family watching it, it becomes embarrasing especially when sarcastic comments are made on the "marriage institution" and the "availability" of married women. Instead of going home with a good laugh, it sows a seed of suspicion in the mind of a typical possessive (call it narrowminded) husband. The embarrasement during these dialogues is evident from the fact that there was a absolute pindrop silence when these comments on "availability" were made. Hence my request to tone down on these dialogues. Secondy, everybody felt that the show ended abruptly. In fact only when the curtain came down did everybody realize that the show had ended.
